Millennium takes over hotels

Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Middle East and Africa has taken over the operations of two landmark hotels in the holy city of Makkah.

Following the signing of a management agreement with Makkah Construction & Development Company, the group will operate Makkah Millennium Hotel and Makkah Millennium Towers, under the global flagship of Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Middle East and Africa.

The 614-key Makkah Millennium Hotel will under extensive renovation and become a luxury property, as part of The Biltmore Collection.

 

 

Jizan woos Chinese investment

The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Saudi Aramco and a Chinese company will set up a joint investment firm targeting Saudi Arabia’s Jizan region, it has been revealed.

The company will be the biggest investment platform between the two countries, with the aim of attracting Chinese investments in various industrial sectors in Jizan, Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Al Falih said.

“Saudi Arabia aspires to be the biggest investor in the sector of refining petrochemicals in the Chinese market, and there will be a big development in this field,” said Al-Falih was quoted as saying in an Arab News report.

 

 

Saja opens Madinah property

Saja Hotels & Resorts has opened a new hotel in the heart of Madinah, near the Prophet’s Mosque.

The four-star Saja AlMadinah Hotel has 555 rooms, a business centre, lounge and restaurant.

“In line with the kingdom’s Vision 2030, Saja AlMadinah Hotel has been developed to support the diversity of the touristic offerings and to meet the needs of visitors and to attract groups and families looking for a hotel with full services and a distinctive location during the Haj or Umrah seasons,” said Mohanad Bin Nabeel Khogeer, chief executive officer of Saja Company.
