The Mall of Arabia ... a unique lifestyle experience.

The promoters of Dubailand have announced the launch of two major components – City of Arabia and the Al Barari – that will come up within the heart of the $5 billion mixed-use theme park.

The Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group has announced the launch of a Dh4 billion ($1.08 billion) development in the heart of Dubailand called City of Arabia. The project, work on which has already begun, will include four components – Restless Planet, Mall of Arabia, Wadi Walk and Elite Towers.
• Restless Planet is a unique electronic media and natural history experience where visitors will be led into the prehistoric world where they can experience the power of cosmic forces that helped shape our planet, and come face to face with giant dinosaurs. Themed by the Natural History Museum, London, the Dh600 million ($163.3 million) museum was conceptualised by an international team of experts.
• Mall of Arabia, the second component of the project, is a unique lifestyle experience with its vast ancient Middle Eastern exterior that will house the best of international fashion brands, a state-of-the-art stage for theatrical performances, leisure and entertainment facilities and a world-class spa.
• Offering an exclusive urban community, Wadi Walk blends timeless Mediterranean architecture into ultra-modern Dubai and reflects a vibrant atmosphere of retail shops and outdoor cafes.
• The fourth component – the Elite Towers – promises exceptional views of the City of Arabia and the Dubai skyline and provides a dynamic visual backdrop to an elegant urban centre.
All these components will be linked by a monorail and flowing waterways, which will set the standard for tourism, leisure and urban living in the region. The project is expected to complete by 2008.

Al Barari
Green Works will invest a massive Dh2.4 billion ($653.5 million) to build one of the key attractions of the Eco-Tourism World at Dubailand.
Known as Al Barari, it will include 16 different varieties of gardens from all across the world, a large outdoors amphitheatre Health Spa and Resort and Academy for 1,000 students.
The project, claimed to be the first eco-friendly sustainable mixed-use development of its kind in the Middle East, revolves around botanical gardens that aim to make Dubai green.
A fascinating diversity of the world’s botany will be on display uniting different cultures and traditions. The gardens will be created in a manner that the natural vegetation of the land is protected, integrated and highlighted.
“Bordering a protected wild life sanctuary, Al Barari will be set amidst lakes, water lily-filled ponds and streams cascading through the gardens representing various parts of the world, and flowing towards the magnificent desert dunes. It will truly be an inspirational setting from A Thousand and One Nights,” he said.
Extending over 14.6 million sq ft, Al Barari will feature 16 lush green segments boasting most types of flora from all corners. It will have themes that will cover organic and herb, Mediterranean, sculpture, tropical, European, bird and butterfly sculpture, Japanese, contemporary, Islamic, renaissance and classical music gardens.
• Healing Haven – perhaps the only wellness retreat of its kind in the world, Healing Haven with 88 secluded chalets, will offer a combination of four healing institutes offering the best in traditional and new age medicine. This Arabian resort will combine conventional and natural medicines and exclusive spa treatments.
• Amphitheatre – the outdoor event area will act as an art, cultural and heritage hub. It will offer musicals, concerts and plays and will house an art museum, a library, art exhibition hall, art material shops, a dance and drama school, galleries, restaurants and a grand ballroom. Al Barari will also benefit from a boarding school catering for 1000 students.
• The Village Square – It will have small boutique shops, ranging from the local grocer to the newspaper and coffee shops. The development will also feature jogging, walking and cycling tracks, tennis courts, swimming pools and a fitness centre.
• Al Aman – an elevated, six-star, 120-suite, deluxe boutique hotel hidden in the midst of green gardens and azure lakes. It will have luxurious suites and chalets, lounge bars and organic restaurants.
• Al Nujoom – a high-end community of villas built to maximise natural light, space and optimum functionality, will offer water frontage and individually designed gardens.
• Al Zeitoon – spread over a beautifully landscaped area, the 300-duplex and loft apartments in Al Zeitoon will have wide terraces, sunken pools, hanging gardens, shaded Arabian courtyards and gentle streams. Scented gardens will add to the calming appeal of this eco-friendly apartment community.
The company has brought together local and international investors as well as a dedicated team of experts to ensure the success of this project.
