Saudi foundation to provide 1,200 homes for poor

13-08-2017

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Foundation for Development Housing is expected to provide homes for 1,200 less privileged Saudi families by next year.

Work on the housing project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year and the selected families will move in to their new homes next year, Dr Ahmed Al Arjani, the foundation’s secretary general, was quoted as saying in a Saudi Gazette report.

The villas will have separate living rooms for men and women in addition to a courtyard with an area of 450 m to 500 m.

Al Arjani was speaking after distributing keys of 100 low-cost housing units in Wadi Al Haya, near Surat Obaida, located in the southwestern part of the kingdom.

The project in Wadi Al Haya includes a mosque, a community hall, administrative offices and training halls. Plots have been allocated for a health centre, schools for boys and girls and a cooperative society in the complex, the secretary general said.
