About 48 per cent of the work has been completed on the Dh324-million ($88 million) Martyrs Neighbourhood Residential Complex coming up in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain, said a report.

The project, which is being developed on a 830,459-sq-m area, will feature 232 residential units along with other amenities. It is likely to be completed by the second quarter of 2018, reported state news agency Wam, citing a senior minister.

"It is exceptional for its geographic location between Etihad Road and Mohamed bin Zayed Road, as well as its close proximity to services facilities, such as the Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, the Ministry of Community Development and the Traffic Department Building," remarked Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.

"We aim to build residential neighbourhoods with complete facilities, which will contribute to achieving social solidarity and promote positive relations between residents, through the services and facilities provided in these neighbourhoods," he added.
