Meydan Sobha, a leading developer of prime freehold land in the heart of Dubai, said its ambitious project Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One has been recognised as the best architectural design community at the Urban Community Development Middle East Forum, organised by IQPC Middle East.

Organised alongside the Urban Community Development Conference, the awards are designed to recognise the game changers in urban community development.

Samir Al Zaai, the vice-president (group procurement) for Meydan Sobha received the award at a recent ceremony held in The Meydan Hotel.

A joint venture project between top developers Meydan and Sobha Group, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City - District One is the first residential community taking shape in MBR City.

With a total land area of 45 million sq ft, enclosed by glorious green natural surroundings, the community presents one of the lowest density villa developments in the heart of any international city.

Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, the chairman of Meydan Sobha said: "To be recognised for our achievements in architectural design is a great motivator for us to continue developing and building communities such as Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City - District One."

"With AE7 we have realised some outstanding designs which are shaping District One into the luxurious community we set out to develop," he added.

District One brings together a 7-km crystal lagoon, sublime beaches, a 14-km boardwalk, sweeping parklands and breathtaking architecture.

Phase One comprises 267 villas, broken down into five communities, featuring a range of four-, five- and six- bedroom freehold villas designed in three prototypes – Modern Arabic, Mediterranean and Contemporary Design, stated Al Tayer.

The Crystal Lagoon at District One offers residents exclusive access to swimming, paddle boarding, and other non-motorized aquatic leisure activities.

State-of-the-art environment-friendly technology keeps the lagoon waters crystal clear, adding to the appeal of a feature which industry experts say will overtake golf courses to become the amenity of the future for luxury real estate developments.

The 8.4-km District One Cycling and Running Track has become one of the most popular attractions in town for the UAE’s growing number of cyclists and runners since its launch in December 2015.

Two new tunnels have also been added to the track to ensure the safety of all those taking advantage of the free facilities, which are equipped with 386 solar light poles for environmentally friendly and energy efficient light at night.

District One is also situated next to the spectacular Meydan One leisure, commercial, and entertainment destination, Meydan One will host the world's tallest residential tower, the tallest observation deck, the longest indoor ski slope and the largest dancing fountain as well as the newly launched Meydan One Mall.

According to Meydan Sobha, the prime location provides an aspirational lifestyle.

"Owners are close to all the major routes into the city, providing quick access to the Dubai International Financial Centre, Downtown Dubai, Dubai World Trade Center and Dubai International Airport," said Al Tayer.

"And after work, the world’s finest racecourse and grandstand, a nine-hole floodlit golf course, a tennis academy and a five-star luxury hotel, The Meydan are just minutes away," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
