Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said all main works related to the roads and infrastructure project on the Al Sailiya-North Salwa Road has been completed.

The project serves 820 residential units in addition to a number of schools, mosques and commercial outlets planned for construction within the project’s geographical limits, said a statement from Ashghal.

Wide-scale improvements have been carried out to the local road network including construction of 22 km of roads. The project also provided streetlighting, pavements, car parking, pedestrian walkways, cycle ways, and road signage to enhance the level of service provided and improve traffic safety in the area, remarked Saoud Al Tamimi, the roads projects department manager at Ashghal.

According to him, the project is geographically divided into two packages. The first one is located to the north of Salwa Road, at the road leading to Barwa Complex in Al Sailiya, which is an area that lacked advanced infrastructure.

The second package is located to the north of Package One, which is an area under construction and is allocated for residential development. Some residential buildings and facilities are now being constructed in several parts of that area, stated Al Tamimi.

The project provides advanced infrastructure in the area to ultimately manage surface and groundwater collection with discharge facilities and foul sewer system for connection to future trunk sewage networks, which will be conducted as part of a project that links Salwa road to Al Sailiya main road, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
