Abu Dhabi City Municipality has signed agreements with property developers to construct a community market in Mohammed bin Zayed City and a service station for residential districts at Al Shawamekh city.

Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, general manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, signed the agreements with Naji Hasan Al Harthi of Tristar Engineering and Construction Company for the construction of the community market and with Salim Mohammed Mubarak Al Mansouri of Florida Property Development Company for the service station.

The Dh36-million ($9.79 million) contract for the community market calls for the construction and operation of the facility in collaboration with the private sector. The market comprises retail outlets, community facilities, government service counters for residential districts, retail outlets and customer service elements. The market is expected to be operational in the final quarter of 2020.

The Dh15.3-million service station, which is expected to start operation in the third quarter of 2021, will offer a diverse range of maintenance services that cover carpentry, repair services, plumbing, electricity and air-conditioning services, tyre and auto parts trading, car repair and washing services, and other services. The agreements for the community market and service centre call for Musataha (property rights) and operation for 30 years after two years and three years of  construction, respectively.
