Majid Al Futtaim has appointed Dutco Construction as the main contractor for the Serenity Mansions situated in the heart of Tilal Al Ghaf, its flagship lifestyle destination in Dubai. The leading shopping mall, communities, retail, and leisure pioneer in the region has also announced a landmark AED5 billion ($1.36 billion) investment to transform Mall of the Emirates (MoE) into a next-generation lifestyle destination.
The awarding of the AED1.57-billion contract to the Dubai contractor marks the start of construction for the highly anticipated, ultra-luxury neighbourhood within the Tilal Al Ghaf development.
The neighbourhood comprises 109 standalone mansions. Serenity Mansions’ innovative residential design was conceptualised in partnership with multi-award-winning architectural firms SAOTA and Nabil Gholam, and features interiors by BLINK Design, recognised for its work on the world’s most luxurious hotels.
On the contract award, Majid Al Futtaim Properties CEO Ahmed El Shamy said: “Every detail of Serenity Mansions has been thoughtfully designed to redefine luxury living, raising the bar for sophistication and exclusivity.
As per the deal, Dutco will be responsible for the construction and completion of Serenity Mansions, including in-plot mansion construction, interior fit-out, in-plot and public realm landscaping, gatehouses, ancillary buildings and infrastructure work.
Meanwhile, the revamp of Mall of the Emirates comes as part of the mall's 20th anniversary celebrations. The “Mall of New Possibilities” vision will introduce new retail, dining, wellness, entertainment, and cultural offerings.
As part of the transformation, 20,000 sq m of additional retail space will be added, welcoming 100 new stores across luxury, fashion, and lifestyle categories.
AED1.1 billion has already been allocated to major enhancements currently under way, including a new wellness club, cultural hub, dining precinct, and infrastructure upgrades, it stated. Among the upcoming features is the Seven Wellness Club, bringing premium fitness, spa, and recovery experiences to the Kempinski Hotel.
The 'New Covent Garden' cultural hub, developed with Dubai Performing Arts Academy, will open in 2025 and include a 600-seat theatre and rehearsal spaces, said the mall developer.
