Bahrain's government has awarded tenders worth BD1.16 billion ($3 billion) during the first nine months, the Tender Board announced last month (November) at the Gateway Gulf 2025, a major investment forum held in the kingdom.

The total contracts awarded for the period amounted to 1,538 tenders across five major sectors, highlighting Bahrain's continued commitment to economic growth and infrastructure development.

The largest contributor by value was the services and investment sector, which accounted for $1.1 billion contracts followed by the Construction and Engineering Consultancy with $835 million  contracts.

The oil sector generated significant contracts valued at $460 million. Furthermore, the aviation sector awarded $353 million deals, underscoring the strategic importance of Bahrain International Airport and related logistics services, followed by the materials sector with $249 million contracts.

On the key achievement, Eng Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary-General of the Tender Board, said: “The awarding of government contracts valued at $3 billion over the first nine months reflects the Tender Board's mandate to maintain efficient, high-volume procurement in line with government financial plans.”

“These 1,538 contracts – spanning diverse sectors from services to construction and energy – underscore the government’s dedication to transparency and providing competitive opportunities,” he added.
