Sigma40 Actuator plate ... installation has been simplified by Geberit.

Swiss sanitary solutions provider Geberit has introduced a new level of design flexibility with its Sigma40 actuator plates and Type 40 urinal cover plates, which are now available with customised finishes that can be colour-matched to bath and shower taps from a variety of third-party manufacturers.

The new portfolio, with numerous customised special colours and surfaces, unlocks an expanded creative palette for interior designers and architects, enabling seamless visual coherence across all bathroom fixtures.

The Geberit Sigma40 actuator plate serves as the centrepiece of this initiative. Acting like a chameleon, its surface can be individually adapted to align with the colours and finishes of fittings from leading international brands, including Gessi, Dornbracht, THG Paris, Hansgrohe/AXOR and Vola, according to Geberit.

The Type 40 cover plate for urinals is also included in this customisation portfolio, extending design continuity across the entire bathroom environment. This diversity of options ensures that designers can achieve a unified aesthetic that reflects each project’s unique mood and material concept.

Geberit actuator plates are now also available in brushed nickel with the company responding to the interior design trend towards soft, warm metal tones. This development further strengthens the brand’s position as a design partner for contemporary bathroom concepts.

Nickel, and in particular brushed nickel, has emerged as one of the most important trends in bathroom design and furnishings. The finish combines subtle elegance with a robust character, creating a balanced overall look, especially in bathrooms that feature warm colour palettes. Brushed nickel can also be paired effortlessly with other metals such as chrome or bronze, delivering refined contrasts without making the design appear overloaded. For anyone redesigning or renovating a bathroom, nickel therefore offers an exciting option that fulfils design, maintenance and long-term value requirements all at once.

The nickel finish is now available for the Geberit Sigma40 and Sigma70 flush plates, as well as the Type 40 cover plate for urinals. The base material for these models is stainless steel, chosen for its durability, ease of cleaning and pleasant feel. In addition, the surface features an easy-to-clean coating, which makes fingerprints less visible and easier to remove – an important benefit in both residential and high-traffic commercial bathrooms.

“Design-conscious customers will appreciate not only the visual harmony but also the refined engineering that defines the Sigma40,” says Louise Pitt, Head of Marketing and Communication (Gulf Office) at Geberit International Sales in Dubai.  “With its panoramic format and ultra-slim profile – just 4 mm deep – the Sigma40 offers perfect conditions for customer-specific surface treatments. These finishes are applied with the same precision and durability that characterise all Geberit products, ensuring that bespoke design never compromises on performance or quality.”
