Construction of Phase One of the Bahrain Marina project is now more than 75 per cent complete.
Bahrain Marina, one of Bahrain’s iconic waterfront destinations along Manama's eastern shoreline, has seen remarkable progress since it broke ground less than three years ago and is reported to be on track for full delivery by the end of this year.
A flagship project by Bahrain Marina Development Company (BMDC), the mixed-use development is situated in a prominent location on Manama Corniche, with unique positioning looking out over the Diplomatic Area to the East and the waters of the Arabian Gulf to the West.
Spanning over 250,000 sq m, the BD200-million ($530 million) development integrates freehold luxury residences, a five-star hotel, a yacht marina, 3,200-sq-m marine club, dining, upscale retail and entertainment options, green spaces and leisure facilities.

The visionary project aims to create a dynamic urban waterfront district and a premier lifestyle destination for Bahrain and the region. It is designed to enhance the corniche area and unlock its full potential as a landmark lifestyle attraction that celebrates Bahrain Marina’s heritage, commercial activities, and leisure offer.
International architectural and masterplanning firm Benoy was the lead architect for the project, contributing to the urban resort vision.
The construction of Phase One of the project started in August 2023 and has now exceeded 75 per cent completion, with Bahrain Marina Residence (BMR) tower 45 per cent complete.
Bahrain Marina Residence is considered one of Bahrain’s signature residential destinations, comprising 274 luxury units ranging from one-bedroom apartments to premium penthouses with sea views. The development features an array of integrated amenities, including fitness centres, swimming pools, private cinema rooms, children’s play areas and smart parking facilities. It is also surrounded by a comprehensive selection of retail and leisure outlets.

Current works include the installation of floating docks at the marina, alongside advanced finishing on the external zones and interior mall – all executed to rigorous international quality benchmarks, according to BMDC.
Engineer Hisham Almoayyed, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Head of Project Development, says: “All concrete work on the Bahrain Marina Residence structure has been completed, with brickwork finalised from the podium level and up to the 20th floor. Current workstreams include façade installations, interior finishing, and mechanical and electrical systems – all under close engineering supervision. Our commitment to detailed execution is what sets this project apart and positions Bahrain Marina as a new benchmark in modern real estate.”
“Construction is progressing in accordance with the highest engineering standards, ensuring quality execution at every level. We are applying global best practices in building and finishing, with a strong focus on architectural precision and structural integrity that reflects the luxury and refinement Bahrain Marina represents,” he adds.
KEY CONTRACTS, PARTNERSHIPS
Nass Contracting Company, a subsidiary of Nass Corporation and a leading construction firm in the kingdom, was appointed as the principal contractor responsible for project implementation in September 2023. Mohamed Salahuddin Engineers & Architects (MSCEB) is overseeing the construction of the initial phase.
Last November, BMDC awarded Nass Contracting another contract to develop over 8,000 sq m of beachfront facilities within the Bahrain Marina project. This includes a 130-m beachline, a 400-sq-m family infinity pool, children’s splash pool and water play area, shaded beach cabanas, and water sports. The works also encompass advanced landscaping and support amenities to form a fully integrated family leisure destination that aligns with the project’s luxury vision.
United Marine Trading was also awarded the marina development contract last year (2025) as part of the first phase of the project. The facility will accommodate up to 167 yachts and vessels of up to 50 m in length, along with 42 jet ski berths and a fuel station. These works form part of the first phase of the project.
