The AggreScrub, recently launched by Terex Washing Systems, has been shortlisted for a prestigious global award, testimony to the company’s focus on innovation.
Terex Washing Systems (TWS) of the UK has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious World Demolition Awards 2014, in the ‘Innovation – Series Product’ category, for its recently launched Terex AggreScrub product.
Commenting on the achievement, Elaine Donaghy, TWS marketing manager, says: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted as finalists in the World Demolition Awards in the ‘Innovation Award’ category in recognition of our latest new product, the AggreScrub.
“To gain this level of recognition from an international panel, competing with entries around the world, is extremely important to TWS. This recognition further demonstrates TWS’s ongoing commitment to providing our customers with new innovative solutions for their washing needs.”
The AggreScrub was unveiled at the recent Hillhead Show 2014, an international quarrying and recycling event held last June in Buxton, UK, and the first one has just been recently installed at a site in the UK.
The new AggreScrub 150 (with a capacity of up to 150 tonnes per hour) plant is particularly suited to the C&D (construction and demolition) recycling market.
The key benefits for customers include the improved wear characteristics, reduced costs, and the ability to effectively scrub aggregates and float out clays/silts/lights (wood/plastics) on one chassis. In addition, there are a number of paddle options available depending on customers’ needs, including the traditional hard-wearing Hardox blades in 15 and 30 mm variances as well as a new high manganese steel option.
The winners will be announced at the 2014 World Demolition Summit, which will be held at the NH Grand Krasnapolski Hotel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, this month (November 6).
TWS has an active presence in the Gulf, where it has the five dedicated distributors.
In an effort to develop the Gulf markets, the company appointed a dedicated sales manager for the region in August 2013 to facilitate further growth and provide a dedicated line of support for both the TWS distributor network and customers.
The five dedicated distributors are located in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, the UAE and Qatar, who have committed team members focusing in washing, each with extensive knowledge, expertise and service capabilities in washing solutions. In addition, the dealers and customers in these regions are further supported by TWS’s engineering and after-sales technicians.
To date, TWS has installed a number of static, modular and mobile plants in the Gulf region, which are successfully processing crushed quarry stone to produce high quality sand, typically sized 0-5, 5-12, 12-22 mm.
The most popular concepts to date have been the Finesmaster Compact and Bucketwheel ranges, both unique sand plants that are suited for single and double grade sand applications. Both ranges are particularly suited to high wearing abrasive sands as the buckets reduce wear on the rubber-lined centrifugal pump and in the case of the Finesmaster, reduces wear on the cyclones.
“Recently, there has been an increased interest in true modular washing concepts, particularly TWS newest solutions, such as the AggreSand and AggreScrub ranges,” says a spokesman for the company.
Florin Ioia, TWS regional sales manager in Middle East, comments: “The return of growth in the Gulf markets is extremely encouraging and presents exciting opportunities for TWS. We are continually developing our business and have to date supplied multiple washing solutions to a number of key customers in the Gulf region. We have a strategy in place to continue to expand and maximise on the massive potential that is here.
“TWS provides a one-stop shop for all washing solutions and with the continued introduction of new innovative washplants, TWS is set to increase market share in this region. We are excited to work with customers to solve their washing problems, add value to their business and provide effective and efficient solutions.”
TWS is part of Terex Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer of a broad range of equipment serving customers in various industries, including the construction, transportation, refining, energy, utility, quarrying and mining industries.
