Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a key sector of the Parallel Roads Improvement Project with the conclusion of construction works on Qarn Al Sahbkha Road.

Qarn Al Sahbkha Road, which links the Sheikh Zayed Road at the JLT (Jumeirah Lake Towers) junction with the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near Al Houdh Roundabout, was opened last month. This will be followed by the opening of the remaining bridges at the intersection of Al Saada Road with Qarn Al Sahbkha Road.

Under Phase Two of the project, which will be launched by the end of March next year, Al Saadah Road will be linked with Ibn Battuta Mall district, said Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency.

Some bridges and roads in the neighbourhood, which mainly serve the JLT, Gardens, Furjan, Jumeirah Islands, and Jumeirah Park, will also be completed.

Meanwhile, RTA has fully opened the Jumeirah Corniche stretching 14 km at the beach overlooking six residential communities, starting from behind the Dubai Marine Beach Resort up to Burj Al Arab hotel. The corniche consists of a 5-m-wide walk, a 4-m-wide jogging track, and relaxation areas comprising retail kiosks, shaded benches overlooking the sea.
