HP has unveiled a new line of printers which are said to offer the fastest large-format production printing, in colour and black and white.

Aimed at architecture, engineering and construction firms, the HP PageWide XL printers are the first products introduced under the new HP PageWide sub-brand, based on proven HP PageWide Technology, which currently powers HP Inkjet Web Presses and HP business printers, says Ernest Azzam, regional business manager, Large Format Design, HP.

“HP PageWide Technology consists of an array of inkjet printheads wide enough to cover a full page and to print this page in one pass. The technology offers high quality at high printing speeds, reliable and robust operation as well as economical production. These benefits are achieved using PageWide HP Thermal Inkjet printheads and new HP PageWide pigment inks, which are formulated to meet the requirements of page wide printing,” he adds.

The models in the new range include:

• The HP PageWide XL 8000 printer offering high-end production printing at speeds up to 30 D/A1-size prints per minute as well as two 775 ml ink cartridges per colour with automatic switching and up to six rolls of media for sustained productivity.

• The HP PageWide XL 5000 printer and Multi-function Printer (MFP) providing production speeds up to 14 D/A1-size prints per minute as well as two 400 ml ink cartridges per colour with automatic switching and up to four rolls of media to streamline work.

• The HP PageWide XL 4500 printer and MFP enabling cost- and security-conscious technical work teams, including architects and engineers, to securely print up to 12 D/A1-size prints per minute in in-house print corners.

• The HP PageWide XL 4000 printer and MFP allowing technical work teams and copy shops to produce 8 D/A1-size prints per minute.
