Merano Tower ...$54.4-million deal.

Commodore Contracting Company has been awarded a contract worth Dh200 million ($54.4 million) by Damac Properties for the main works at its residential project Merano Tower in Business Bay, Dubai, UAE.

A 29-storey residential property, Merano Tower, features a basement level, ground floor and three podiums with 26 floors of residential apartments varying from studios to three-bedroom units, with units starting at Dh575,000 ($156,504) onwards.

Excavation works are in progress up to raft level and the dewatering system is connected, according to Damac.

Mohammed Tahaineh, senior vice-president (commercial) Damac Properties, says: “We are pleased with the contractors we have appointed for the construction of Merano Tower, where we continue to make steady progress.”

“We strive to appoint leading contractors and consultants in the industry with a proven track record in terms of quality of work and efficiency on delivery times,” he adds.

Merano Tower features a swimming pool, a state-of-the-art gymnasium and ample parking space.

Once completed in 2019, the tower will provide spectacular views of the prestigious platinum square kilometre of the Burj area in Downtown Dubai,

Commodore Contracting has constructed a number of projects in the UAE including IPIC headquarters, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Seba Tower, Sama Tower, Al Aryam Tower in Abu Dhabi; Jumeirah Towers at Dubai Marina and Prism Tower in Dubai; and Fujairah Commercial Complex in Fujairah, as well as other projects in the GCC.
