The Demag AC 500-8 ... an all-terrain unit from Terex Cranes.

Australian group Bothar Boring & Tunnelling is expanding its operations in the Middle East with the addition of three all-terrain cranes – a Demag AC 500-8, a Demag AC 100-4L, and a Terex Explorer 5600 – from Terex Corporation.

The company has been operating in the Middle East since 2010 and has completed many high-profile micro-tunnelling sewer and cable tunnel projects in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, and the UAE.

After recently being awarded major contracts for micro-tunnelling jobs in Qatar, the company determined it needed to add further units to its current fleet of 15 cranes.

Bothar Boring & Tunnelling said it chose Terex Cranes after evaluating multiple crane brands and models.

“We were impressed with Terex’s record of providing the quality products that deliver the best return-on-investment and have a strong long-term residual value,” said a company spokesman.

An international contractor with over 25 years of experience, Bothar Group of Companies has three separate organisations – Bothar Boring, Coleman Microtunnelling and Bothar International. It has offices in Australia, New Zealand, Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, South Africa, UK and Ireland and Ghana.
