The Hi-Finity sliding system ... new to the Gulf.

REYNAERS Middle East will showcase the global expertise of its parent firm Reynaers Aluminium as well as its extensive range and ability to offer tailor-made aluminium system solutions when it returns to The Big 5 Saudi next month.

A regular participant at the event since its inception three years ago, Reynaers has enjoyed a good visitor turnout at The Big 5 Saudi, says a top company official.

Ali Khalaf, managing director of the Reynaers Middle East, describes The Big 5 Saudi as one of the biggest construction events and a great way of ensuring clients of his company’s continued presence in the Middle East.

“The Big 5 Saudi is also one of the best ways to promote our new product launches,” he adds.

This year, Reynaers intends to promote various aluminium systems offered by the company to demonstrate its versatility.

“We also plan to showcase the international projects from the Reynaers group portfolio to remind our clients and show potential customers that Reynaers Aluminium provides an extensive range of solutions and can also offer tailor-made solutions that suits their individual needs,” says Khalaf.

Alongside its current product range, Reynaers will be introducing a couple of new products – namely the Hi-Finity doors and Purity handle series – to the Gulf market at the show this year.

Hi-Finity, Khalaf says, is a new top-end, sliding door with an “infinite” view.

“The ultra-slim design of the Hi-Finity sliding door creates large transparent surfaces, with a light, sleek and elegant appearance. This fully transparent and accessible sliding door seamlessly extends the interior space of a house to the outdoors.

“And despite the minimal visual sidelines, the system’s high strength allows Hi-Finity to carry the weight of a large glass pane up to 500 kg. This, in combination with the high energy performance and the minimalistic look, makes this product the best solution for low-energy contemporary architecture,” he points out.

“As for Purity, it’s a unique Reynaers handle series for people who desire the ultimate in design and quality,” says Khalaf.

This series combines next-generation material and mechanical properties with the superior Italian design capabilities of Leo De Carlo, who has previously worked in the studios of Philippe Starck.

“De Carlo has studied both Reynaers’ culture and its recent project successes to capture the essence of his observations in Purity, resulting in a timeless, minimal and rational design,” comments Khalaf. “But Purity is much more than just a great design. The combination of the material and its surface treatment makes the handles non-corrosive, hypoallergenic and 100 per cent recyclable.”

Purity handles are available in three standard colours (Sapphire Black, Moonlight White and Lithium), while five more colours are available on demand (Or, Obsidian, Polaris, Eclipse and Belgian Chocolate).

From its current portfolio, Reynaers will be promoting the following products:

• CW 50 SL and CW 50 SG: Both variants of Reynaers’ aluminium curtain-wall system, which provide virtually unlimited architectural freedom. The use of this curtain-wall in the façade helps maximise on daylighting, thus creating a pleasant working environment;

• CW 86 EF SG: This curtain-wall system is built using a traditional stick structure or unitised system which can be completely pre-assembled in the workshop, thus speeding up work on the building site;

• CP155 LS (Concept Patio 155): A premium insulating slide and lift-slide system, designed to maximise on glazed areas, while enhancing the comfort of occupants. The lift–slide system allows the creation of glazed doors of large dimensions and weighing up to 400 kg;

• CS 68 So (Concept System 68): A universal window system, offering good performance in terms of stability, thermal insulation and security;

• RW 105: This sliding system consists of an exterior aluminium profile with thermal break and a wooden interior finishing profile that allows the construction of a sliding door with two or four vents;

• CW 60 Solar: This aesthetically pleasing high-tech green energy solution is described as being ideal for wall and roof application. The totally insulated system has been designed to avoid shadow on the cells and can handle all three types of photovoltaic (PV) panels: mono- and poly-crystalline, and amorphous cells.

• CF 77 Concept Folding: Since its launch on the market a little under two years ago, this folding system has grown in popularity across the Gulf, particularly with top restaurants and high-end villas. The standalone solution comprises new profiles, accessories and insulation technologies that have been specifically designed for folding systems. It ensures high insulation values (Uf values up to 2.22 W per sq m K and Uw up to 1.68 W per sq m K with an Uw of 1.1 W per sq m K for a three-panel configuration measuring 2,700 by 2,300 mm) that meet stringent regulatory requirements as well as market demands well into the future.

Reynaers Middle East is part of Reynaers Aluminium, a leading European specialist that develops and markets innovative and sustainable aluminium solutions for windows, doors, curtain-walling, sliding systems, sun screening and conservatories. It also offers an extensive range of standard solutions, besides developing bespoke solutions that are tailored to the individual project needs.

The Middle East operation, which reports good growth over 2013, is witnessing a surging number of inquiries. It has also recently established its representative office in Egypt and acquired additional technical support to need the demand for information in terms of quoting for projects and value engineering.

Reynaers has supplied to many major projects such as the Four Seasons hotel in Bahrain, which is currently under construction, and the Al Khair Tower in Saudi Arabia, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.

The Al Khair Tower employs a bespoke aluminium systems solution using more than 18,000 sq m of CW 50 SC curtain-walling and more than 21,000 linear m of BS 100 sun screening. “The design is one of a kind in Saudi Arabia with integrated LED (light emitting diode) lighting within the louvres while the sun screening covers the entire building in a unique manner,” explains Khalaf.

He says Reynaers’ research and development (R&D) team exerted a great deal of effort in developing the exclusive sun screening solution to meet the needs of the project, while using value engineering to ensure that the project remained within its budget. The consultants and architects for this landmark project is Mohammed Harasani Architects.

Another major project in Saudi Arabia, which has recently been completed, is the waterfront Bay La Sun Hotel, the biggest luxury hotel in the Bay La Sun District, King Abdulla Economic City in Rabigh. Reynaers’ CW 50, CW 50-HL, CW 50-SC and CS 59-PA systems have been installed at this project.

Khalaf says Saudi Arabia has been a promising market for the company, which is expanding its product offering and developing bespoke solutions to cater to the needs of projects in the country. “Reynaers Aluminium is at the forefront of bespoke development and we have a highly dedicated staff ready to cater to the diverse needs of the client,” he concludes.

Reynaers will be present at Stand 2A40, Hall 2, at The Big 5 Saudi.
