Kuwait will soon start work on projects worth KD1.2 billion ($4 billion) including construction of new roads and bridges across the country.

The Ministry of Finance and State Audit Bureau are expected to give the go-ahead for these infrastructure works including building of new 130-km-long roads, local newspapers reported.

These projects, which have been designed to international standards,  include improvement of roads and infrastructure by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), in addition to Al Metla’a Housing City.

The housing project involves the construction of 12 residential complexes that will offer 30,000 units to Kuwaiti citizens. Delivery is scheduled for 2017.

The road projects will be developed in six phases that include three ongoing phases and three other new phases.

The Ministry of Public Works said work has already started on the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges along the road linking Sabah Al-Ahmad City to Khairan Residential City, as part of the major projects estimated at KD45.75 million ($153 million).
