UBM adds Dorma’s interior glass range

RIYADH-based Universal Building Materials (UBM) has further strengthened its partnership with Dorma, a market leader in premium access solutions, by taking on the dealership of the German company’s interior glass products on an exclusive basis for the Saudi market.

An agreement was recently signed in the Saudi capital by the Dorma Group CEO Thomas Wagner and UBM’s CEO Raghunath Sadasivam. The two companies have been exclusive project partners for door hardware products for more than 15 years.

Commenting on the partnership, Raghunath says: “UBM and Dorma are now joining hands to launch Dorma Glass Interior in this market. From now onwards, the world-famous Dorma Glass Interior products can be ordered to specifications from the designing stage itself from UBM, which has the expertise and the market knowledge to serve the growing needs of the construction industry in Saudi Arabia.”

Raghunath says that UBM’s team is well qualified to offer building materials from the concept stage to delivery and beyond. “This end-to-end service is being offered for the first time in Saudi Arabia.”

He adds that UBM is recognised by Dorma as its best partner in the whole of Mediterranean, Middle East and African countries.

On his part, Wagner acknowledges the dedicated services being offered by UBM to Dorma in enhancing the product experience and helping to grow the market share for door hardware in Saudi Arabia and thanks the construction industry professionals for patronising and endorsing Dorma, a brand of global stature.

“In the modern world where optimum utilisation of space is a prerequisite, any interior designer and architect seeks products that will meet the demand of glazed construction. Towards this end, Dorma has developed a range of glass fittings for doors – swinging or sliding – which are designed to contribute towards an impeccable ambiance both in terms of functionality and technological excellence,” he says.

UBM, being a value-driven and engineering solutions provider, provides a single-source solution for Dorma Glass Interior products to designers, architects, consultants, clients and end-users.

Its product portfolio includes systems for glass swing doors:

• Dorma Beyond, frameless swing glass doors with anti-pinch technique;

• Dorma Visur, which are double-acting doors without any visible fittings;

• Dorma Tensor, double-acting hinges for commercial/residential markets;

• Dorma DRS/RP/DRS Fit, which comprise independent laboratory-tested rails and header systems; and

• Dorma Arcos/Universal/Patch Fittings, which are technically sound and visually attractive tempered glass fittings.

Raghunath says UBM has been known for excellence in customer service for the past three decades and building on this reputation, the company has also added Dorma glass sliding doors to its portfolio. This, he says, will give architects and specifiers the flexibility to create bespoke designs that suit the space, view and lighting conditions of the project.

The range of glass sliding doors includes:

• Dorma Magneo, which is a magnetic drive sliding entrance system;

• Dorma Agile 150/RS 120, comprehensive hardware for tempered glass sliding systems; and

• Dorma Manet, which are single-point fixings for interior applications.

UBM will also be marketing products that include glass wall systems and operable partitions.

These systems include Dorma movable glass partitions for elegant transitions to achieve architectural excellence; and Dorma Interior Glass wall systems which optimise space utilisation in the professional environment.

UBM’s latest tie-up with Dorma to market its Glass Interior products further enhances the services it has been offering its clients over the past 35 years with the best of European engineering technology, Raghunath concludes.
