NFT-Potain trained 33 personnel at a key Riyadh Metro site.

NFT, a tower cranes specialist, and Manitowoc’s Potain team have taken their Safety First! campaign to Saudi Arabia focusing on the main contractors of the Riyadh Metro.

In Riyadh, NFT’s sister company Arabian Towers Corporation (ATE) visited two major contractors working on the metro project last month.

ATE’s operations manager and general manager along with Potain’s sales director visited ArRiyadh New Mobility (ANC)-CWG’s Qasr Al Hukum Downtown Station (3E2). Training was conducted for 33 personnel including operators, riggers, HSE (health, safety and environment) staff and supervisors.

The team later visited Fast Consortium for Line Five, where NFT has erected 14 tower cranes including eight MC310K12, two MC205, two MC235 and two MD310K12 cranes.

“We are grateful to Manitowoc and ATE for promoting safety on our site. Until now, we have had no accidents reported on site and we want the safety culture of working with and around tower cranes to continue until the end of the project and beyond,” said an HSE manager of Fast Consortium, adding, “the safety kit made by NFT and Potain is very useful and we are glad our staff will be carrying it”.

The Safety First! campaign started in 2016 in Dubai where NFT and Potain went to eight project sites across the city creating awareness of tower crane safety and good practices.

NFT and Potain will continue to spread safety around tower cranes across the GCC, with the next stop being Kuwait.
