The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has invited six shortlisted developers and developer consortia to submit request for proposals (RFPs) for the construction of a services and entertainment centre in Egaila near Kuwait City.

The project will come up in the Al Egaila area of Al Ahmadi Governorate, within Fintas Commercial and Administrative Centre and bound by the Fintas commercial area on the north and the east, the Private Universities area on the south, and the Jaber Al Ali area on the west.

It is being developed by KAPP in collaboration with Kuwait Municipality on a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The tenure of the PPP agreement is for 30 years including a maximum of three years for the design, finance and construction of the project.

The shortlisted companies are Mabanee; A’yan Real Estate; National Real Estate Company; besides the consortia of United Real Estate (comprising United Building Company, Kuwait United Construction, United Facilities Management Company and Dar SSH International Engineering Consultants); Kuwait Real Estate (Aqarat) with Alwafir Marketing Services Company; and Al Qurain International Real Estate comprising Kuwait Engineering Bureau, Alkuthban Alkuwaiti General Trading and Mudon Ahlia Real Estate.

The entertainment, cultural, commercial and sports centre will come up over a sprawling 85,500-sq-m area. It will boast a four-storey sports complex with a leasable area of 65,500 sq m and a 20,000-sq-m fresh food market. In addition, it will have a car park with 2,680 parking slots.

The last date for submitting the RfPs is June 14.
