Bids called to manage Sa’ada West

Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah) has invited proposals for the operation  and management of a family entertainment concept within Phase One of the premium seafront development, Sa’ada West, located in Muharraq.

The property arm of the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, Edamah said the BD45-million ($119 million) Sa`ada West mixed-use project is being implemented in two phases.

In Phase One, a 18,000-sq-m area has been reclaimed and graded, besides seawalls and jetties being constructed, while in Phase Two, which is currently under way, seven new buildings are being built featuring 45 retail and food and beverage (F&B) units in addition to a multi-storey car-park.

With a mix of both retail and hospitality spaces, the Sa’ada West is envisioned to house a promenade with family entertainment, an experience of harbour-side dining and a modern marina hosting an array of boats.

The last date for submitting the proposals is June 9.

New real estate data unit planned

Bahrain is planning to set up a new entity that will provide information about the property market in kingdom, said a report.

It will provide real estate statistics and information and supply investors and developers with accurate data which will enable them to take adequate decisions, reported BNA.

The planned unit would provide useful information for businessmen and developers as part of efforts to encourage investments and pump capital in the real estate sector, a key pillar of the national economy, said Shaikh Salman.

Upgrade for pumping stations

Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is on schedule with a project to increase the capacity of four sewage pumping stations by 62 per cent in order to accommodate both current and future sewage flows. The pumping stations are located in vital areas within Doha, namely New Slata, Al Mansoura, Al Messila, and Al Rayyan.

Refurbishment works include the installation of new equipment to improve the pumping stations’ performance and functionality with the upgrade of pumping stations’ control systems. This is in addition to improved odour control systems to prevent bad odours in the surrounding areas.

The project is being implemented by Contracting Services & Trading Company (GEC), and is expected to be completed in Q2, 2021.
