NEPTUNE Technical and Trading will be putting the limelight on its recently acquired aluminium fabrication division while showcasing some aluminium kitchen designs as well as windows and doors at gulfBID next month.

Established in 1986, the Bahrain company started metal fabrication in 2003 and has seen business grow ever since. Its services have been used on some of the landmark projects in the kingdom recently including The Domain Hotel, Four Seasons hotel, ASU new campus and BiSB Financial Malls.

The company undertakes metal fabrication for architectural, structural and general projects, such as staircases and balcony railings, wall-mounted handrails, glass railings, guard rails, windows, doors, gates, ladders, stainless steel kitchens, cladding of lifts, escalators, columns, aluminium composite panel cladding, canopy ceilings, handles, signs, skirting, framing, bollards, brackets, and other custom fabrication. It also works with stainless steel, steel, wrought iron, brass and aluminium.

Commenting on gulfBID, general manager and owner Nadia Sameer says last year’s event enabled the company to meet some new clients. “It’s a great platform for us to spread awareness about our company and showcase quality fabrication to a wide range of potential clients. I think that the addition of the Gulf Property show last year was a good boost for visitors and a great success.”

Sameer adds that her company secured a few projects due to contacts made at the exhibition. In terms of business, she says 2013 was a slow year in the construction sector registering only a marginal improvement over 2012.

“The main issues a lot of companies including ours are facing, is the lack of available funds that large consultants and construction companies have – there are many overdue payments pending from completed projects,” she says.

Yet, the company is looking to expanding to ensure its longevity in the market. “We have recently acquired an aluminium fabrication factory. This means we can expand our operations to include aluminium kitchens, cladding, windows and doors,” says Sameer.

“We aim to survive through this downturn and come out at the top. We will be opening up a showroom this year to showcase our fabrication expertise and also our renewed trading section,” she says.

Commenting on the overall market, she says the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar and Dubai’s successful bid to host the Expo 2020 have given a boost to the GCC market.

“Unfortunately, Bahrain is falling behind due to unsolved political issues. But there is hope, as the market this year show signs of improvement,” she says.

She also expresses hope that work on Bahrain-Qatar causeway will start soon, which would provide Bahrain’s construction industry a shot in the arm.

Neptune’s factory and office are located in East Riffa while its head office is in Sitra.
