Diriyah, a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, is seeing a remarkable surge in development, marked by significant contract awards and the launch of new ultra-luxury residential projects.
Contracts worth a total of SAR18.75 billion ($5 billion) across 15 major agreements were awarded in the first half of the year, signalling the rapid acceleration of the project.
Further bolstering its portfolio of branded residential offerings, Diriyah Company last month announced the sales launch of two highly anticipated developments: the Aman Residences, Amansamar, and The Chedi Residences Wadi Safar.
The awarded contracts cover six memorandums of agreement and nine deals, the most significant of which are:
• Royal Diriyah Opera House: Diriyah Company signed a SAR5.1-billion deal with a joint venture of El Seif Engineering Contracting Co (ESEC), Midmac Construction Co, and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) for the development of the iconic Royal Diriyah Opera House. This flagship performing arts venue and a major architectural landmark will set new benchmarks for cultural performances in Saudi Arabia and be the winter home for New York’s prestigious Metropolitan Opera.
• KSU Utilities: Diriyah Company awarded a SAR4.225 billion construction contract to a joint venture comprising China Railway Construction Corporation Saudi Branch and China Railway Construction Group Central Plain Construction Co (CRCCSA and CRCGCPC) to relocate the existing utilities and administration offices of King Saud University within the Diriyah masterplan.
