The Kommerling Group of companies is a market leader in the uPVC (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) window and door profiles sector in Europe and one of the pioneers in the field of uPVC extrusion.

Founded in 1987, the company produced its first prototype uPVC window profiles in 1967. Since then, its range of products has expanded enormously under its efforts to develop specific technical solutions to meet the individual requirements of other countries.

Today the company produces uPVC window and door profiles, roller shutter profiles, cladding, balcony and fencing profiles, uPVC sheets, sealants and adhesives.

Commenting on its window and door profiles, a spokesman for the Germany-based firm says: ''From the very start, Kommerling has worked with an ideal material. It has developed its own material compound Komalit Z, a PVC blend of the highest impact-resistance grade, especially suitable for tropical climates.

''The high-impact PVC is produced economically, can be machined easily and combines in a perfect way its concern for quality and the environment.

''The colourfast window profiles made of Komalit Z do not rot, corrode or turn brittle even under extreme conditions such as salty coastal environments - they offer perfect thermal and sound insulation and protect against polluted air.

''All Kommerling window profiles are steel reinforced for maximum strength, security and durability.''

Among the products the company offers is the triple-chamber Gold System - a complete suite for a wide range of inward- and outward-opening casement windows and doors. Slim yet strong profiles combined with attractive styling give the system a sophisticated and an even slimmer appearance, says the spokesman.

Other products offered by Kommerling include the Komaterra gate and fencing system, which allows the client to attain maximum modular flexibility using numerous different designs and configurations.

The major advantages cited for the system are: uPVC construction; low on maintenance with no repainting necessary, weather resistance, dimensionally stability, colourfastness and lightfastness and 100 per cent recyclability.

"The structure has high stability on account of its ingeniously designed aluminium or steel basic structures. The striking white clip-on uPVC profiles ensure that the screwed connections are completely covered," the spokesman explains.

The system is complete, including add-on, decorative and accessory items and makes individual design possible through a virtually unlimited combination of profiles around a variety of basic designs.
