DOOSAN Infracore construction equipment division has opened a spare parts warehouse in Dubai to speed up delivery and cut distribution costs to the Middle East and Africa. With this, the company is also aiming to build a 24-hour global parts delivery service network that is expected to be completed by 2016.
“The opening of the new parts distribution centre confirms Doosan’s efforts to provide consistent customer service to the dealers and customers in every part of the world,” said Jong Sun Ahn, executive managing director of parts and service.
“We will continuously satisfy the customers’ needs with various supports including faster parts distribution,” added Sun Ahn, who is also head of aftermarket and product support at Doosan Infracore.
With the opening of a parts distribution centre in the region, the company said that the delivery time for stock orders for 27 countries in the Middle East and Africa will be remarkably shortened. Urgent orders, which used to take five to seven days by air cargo in the past, will be delivered within 24 hours of receiving the order.
The new parts centre is also a part of Doosan’s strategic moves to accomplish “better global service and higher product competitiveness” through the establishment of a global network for 24-hour parts delivery service by 2016.
Doosan Infracore currently operates parts distribution centres in the US, Belgium, India, Singapore and Brazil along with the main parts centre in Ansan, Korea.
Doosan Infracore construction equipment division provides a wide range of products, including crawler/wheel excavators, wheel loaders, breakers and attachments, articulated dumptrucks, air compressors, light compaction equipment, generators and mobile light towers.
With a strong focus on research and development (R & D), the company has more than 800 employees striving to strengthen product competitiveness and building a platform for long-term growth.
With the construction equipment market in the Middle East and Africa showing a double-digit growth rate in recent years due to a continuous increase in sales, the new parts distribution centre is expected to enable Doosan to respond faster to rising demand and to contribute to its sales expansion in the region.
