Industrial Design & Construction (IDC), a subsidiary of CH2M Hill International, has been appointed to prepare a masterplan for Dubai Silicon Oasis, a science and technology-based industrial park to be developed in Nad Al Shiba, Dubai.

Dubai Silicon Oasis, which will cover an area of six million sq m, is aimed at attracting leading global electronics companies to build state-of-the-art research and development, design, manufacturing and fabrication facilities in Dubai.

The masterplan, scheduled for completion by the end of this year, will focus on the nature and infrastructure requirement, land-use and urban design of the hi-tech businesses.

A business plan is also being prepared for the project by a Korean company. It will focus on the marketing aspects as well as the financial and operating model of the business and technology park.
