UK-based Masons and Dubai-based Galadari and Associates have formed the Masons Galadari – a joint venture between the two international law firms – to provide legal services to those operating in the construction and engineering industries throughout the Middle East.
Masons is considered to be the world’s leading provider of legal services to the construction, energy, engineering and infrastructure industries, while Galadari and Associates is claimed to the largest firm of advocates and legal consultants in the UAE.
“This partnership recognises that the Middle East, and particularly the UAE, is fast becoming the point of reference for global development and professional excellence. Masons Galadari wants to be part of that and believes that this partnership has the credentials to secure a role,” said Chris Dering, head of Masons’ International Committee.
Based in Dubai, Masons Galadari will offer local expertise and presence from which to service clients in the Middle East and the association with Masons also allows clients to access the skills and resources of more than 800 lawyers operating across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific, said Dering.
“We have been working in the Middle East and North Africa for many years and the time is now right for us to take our involvement one step further with this permanent presence in Dubai. We are delighted with the opportunity to set up the joint venture with Galadari and Associates. This move is consistent with, and will benefit from, other ventures which we are undertaking such as the launch of Masons Thelen Reid, in conjunction with our US colleagues, and our linked office in Iraq,” he said.
