Future takes shape ... The 10-lane Saadiyat Bridge, which will link the UAE capital Abu Dhabi with its nearby Saadiyat Island, is over two-thirds complete.

Fifty structural support piers are in place for the bridge, which is due for completion in the third quarter of next year. The bridge has been commissioned by Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), which is transforming Saadiyat Island into an international leisure, residential and cultural destination.
