THE UK’s Concrete Society is to open its first ever overseas branch, the Concrete Technology Institute (CTI), in the UAE, following the signing of an agreement between Concrete Society president David Ball and the chairman of CTI’s founding committee Abdel Razak Dajani.
The Concrete Society serves the worldwide construction industry through state-of-the-art research work, advisory services, training and education. The local CTI will carry the same mandate to deliver much needed training, education, guidance and research works by providing a common platform to the entire industry. A non-profit organisation, CTI will be owned by the local industry through membership.
The founding committee has already attracted major names such as BASF Construction Chemicals, Cemex, Envirocon, Mapei, National Cement, Sika, Unibeton, and Xtramix Concrete. Some places on the founding committee of the CTI are still available. For more information please e-mail abu.saleh@xtramix.ae.
