DSO base for Christie Dubai
CHRISTIE Dubai has relocated its Middle East offices and showroom to the prestigious Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) integrated technology park, exactly five years after setting up a base in Dubai.
The new purpose-built facility at GulfView provides a showcase for the company’s market-leading products and incorporates training, state-of-the-art demonstration rooms and warehousing on an enlarged footprint.
Christie’s latest offerings were recently showcased at an open house and included warped and blended mirage 3D projection onto curved screen (with content delivered from a Vista Spyder), as well as simulated control room environments, MicroTiles applications and training (demonstrated in a 9 by 4 array), 4K cinema projection and new Roadster J series, LCD and single chip DLP projectors.
Tabreed completes Al Ain project
NATIONAL Central Cooling Company (Tabreed) said it has completed the expansion of its district cooling plant in Al Ain, UAE.
The plant, which serves the UAE University, can now meet the institution’s total demand of more than 20,000 tons of refrigeration (TR). The expansion of the Al Ain plant increases Tabreed’s installed capacity in the UAE to 603,441 TR and connected capacity to 561,297 TR.
Mann+Hummel eyes Dubai
MANN+Hummel, a global market leader in filtration technology, has launched its first subsidiary in the Middle East – Mann+Hummel Middle East.
This in line with the company’s ambitious expansion plans in the region, especially Dubai.
Manfred Wolf, president and general manager, automotive and industrial business, said: “We will continue to offer the same brand promise as we further intensify our market expansion initiatives and consolidate our presence in the Middle East, particularly in Dubai, which is fast emerging as an ideal regional base for the auto industry.”
Chinese contractor bags key deal
A LEADING project contractor in China has secured a construction project worth $2 billion in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
The project involves building 30 properties, including five-star hotels, office buildings and high-end apartments.
State-owned China State Construction Engineering Corp signed the contract along with owner Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Aabar Investments and financier Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Aabar, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based International Petroleum Investment Company, will repay ICBC with the revenues generated from crude oil and finished oil trade.
