Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has announced that its key affiliated unit - Raysut Industrial City - had attracted nine new projects worth a combined RO6.55 million ($17 million) during the first half of 2026.
The projects were selected out of 27 investment applications received during the period. Spanning key sectors including iron manufacturing, mining, food and services, these projects boast a combined total of 32,702.8 sq m area.
Madayn said five underperforming projects were replaced with new projects in targeted sectors during the period at the Raysut Industrial City.
Hamid bin Ali Bait Said, the Acting director general of Raysut Industrial City, said the cumulative investment in the industrial city had topped RO521 million ($1.35 buillion) by the end of June.
The industrial city employs 3,681 workers, including 1,582 Omanis, giving it an Omanisation rate of more than 44%, he said.
"Raysut Industrial City currently covers more than 3.99 million square metres, with developed areas about 98% occupied. Future expansions are planned across up to 10.05 million sq m," he added.
Madayn said it is implementing key development work at the industrial city, including the provision of water and wastewater services for phases two and three and the preparation of studies and master plans for future expansions.
Several approved projects are expected to begin soon, including infrastructure expansion and development for new areas, the establishment of a Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex and upgrades to the industrial city’s security systems.
Bait Said pointed out that the projects are expected to boost the city’s capacity to accommodate new investments and support its competitiveness.
The industrial city is also seeking to attract investment in food and pharmaceutical manufacturing in Oman’s Dhofar governorate, said Madayn in its statement.
Its management is working with partners to identify opportunities across medical-sector supply chains and develop a food-industry cluster, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
