US-Japanese joint venture Chiyoda Foster Wheeler has signed a contract worth $600 million for the construction of Oman LNG's third train.
Construction is expected to start during the first quarter of this year. The third train will raise Oman LNG output by 50 per cent to 9.9 million tonnes per year.
Chiyoda Foster Wheeler is a joint venture between Japan's Chiyoda Corp and the US' Foster Wheeler Corp. The JV built the first two trains, which were commissioned in April 2000.
