Two flyovers are to be built within two years, at a cost of BD9.7 million ($25.7 million), to ease congestion in Bahrain's Seef area.

Works and Housing Minister Fahmi Al Jowder said that contractor Cybarco Bahrain/WCT Burhad Engineering would build one flyover over Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway, at Seef and one in the nearby Central Market area.

New roads, sewerage systems, car-parks are among other public projects which are to be carried out in Sanabis, Daih, Jidhafs, Karbabad and Burhama during this year, said Al Jowder. Al Jowder said that BD400,000would be spent to resurface a 500-m stretch of Budaiya Highway, BD363,330 on the second phase of the 2,000-m Jidhafs Avenue, another BD325,000 to expand the 1,200-m Road 2806 and BD600,000 to expand the 1,800-m Road 2819, both in Seef and BD287,000 on the 782-m Road 28 at Sanabis.
