Bibko has delivered a concrete recycling system to a leading readymix company in Doha.
“We have designed, manufactured and commissioned a modern recycling system (ComTec 20), together with a 5-m-long dosing buffer for Qatar Alpha Beton,” says a spokesman for Bibko, which has installed more than 850 concrete recycle systems worldwide.
“This system can wash up to five truck mixers at the same time while significantly reducing the time to pour residual concrete out of each truck mixer into it,” he says. “The process starts at the dosing buffer whenever leftover concrete from a vehicle is evacuated into the hopper. Here, the concrete/
water mix is kept and sent in an appropriate dosage to the main recycling process inside the ComTec 20. In addition, we have also installed a pump discharge unit to empty concrete pumps. Mounted at grade level, the unit allows the easier washing of concrete pumps.”
“Since it was not possible to install the recycling system next to the batching plant, because of design considerations of the plant and the construction site, greywater pits have been set up to fit around the existing free areas of the plant,” he says.
“The greywater, which is sent first into a double-pit, is then pumped to another double-pit for reuse in the concrete production. All fines less than 0.2 mm will be kept in suspension by an installed automatic agitator. All clean material greater than 0.2 mm will be sent via a 2-m-long conveyor. All recycled material and also the greywater can be used for new production,” he adds.
