Zamil Air Conditioners (ZAC) – a business unit of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC) and the leading international manufacturer of air-conditioning systems in the Middle East – has announced the launch of two new series of modular condensing units, as well as the completion of the longest customised chiller ever built in the company’s 33-year history.
“These new product offerings are specifically designed to satisfy market demand for new HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) solutions that provide maximum application flexibility and energy savings to the company’s growing customer base,” says a spokesman for the Dammam-headquartered company.
“The new CAX (60Hz)/CAL (50 Hz) and CDX (60 Hz)/CDL (50 Hz) series of air-cooled condensing units consist of several models ranging from 20 to 170 tons in cooling capacity. They use engineering excellence to provide comfort in air-conditioning and efficiency in industrial cooling, along with a superior combination of energy savings, performance, application flexibility, ease of service and maintenance and the ability to withstand extreme ambient temperatures. These units, suitable for rooftop or ground level installation, can be combined with a wide variety of evaporator coils and blower packages to provide quiet and dependable comfort,” he says.
“ZAC assures the quality, safety and comfort of these units by a range of standard features such as UL (Underwriters Laboratory)-listed electrical components and low noise condenser fans with insulated motors for quiet comfort,” he adds.
The new series of modular units utilise the environmentally-friendly HFC-134a refrigerant, a singular compound form with proven, highly-efficient thermodynamic properties. There will be no phase out or replacement costs for the life of the equipment, he points out.
Longest chiller
ZAC has also recently custom built the longest-ever chiller in the company’s history, with a length of 17.5 m and 540 tons of cooling capacity for Saudi Aramco.
The ASY 540 duplex air-cooled screw chiller, tested at 52 deg C ambient temperature, consists of two combined modules and utilises the environmentally-friendly refrigerant R134a.
“The massive unit offers the ultimate combination of energy saving design and superior engineering features needed to fulfil the evolving requirements of specialisd and heavy-duty industrial applications,” says the spokesman. “It incorporates the latest advanced microprocessor controller to monitor analogue and digital inputs and achieve precise control and protective functions of the unit, ensuring efficient and reliable operation at all times.”
Meanwhile, Zamil CoolCare, the regional leader in providing after-sales services to the HVAC industry, has signed an agreement worth SR21.5 million ($5.8 million) with Saudi Electric Company (SEC) to service and maintain HVAC equipment at the transmission and substation facilities in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
According to the contract, Zamil CoolCare will provide complete maintenance and repair services to SEC’s Eastern Province substations, spanning several departments and covering a broad variety of unit types, brands and capacities, ranging from room air-conditioners to high-tonnage chillers.
