Haddonstone, a leading name for interior and exterior stonework in the UK has introduced a number of new designs for statues, table supports and chimney pieces.
Among them is a the Sunflower Table, created in conjunction with the renowned workshops of Andrew Varah.
Describing the table, a spokesman for the firm says. ''The table comprises more than 1,000 individual components and incorporates a stunning spira mirabilis design of American Black Walnut hand inlaid into Anigre surrounded by Black Burr Walnut.
''A Haddonstone Corinthian capital provides an imposing support. The spira mirabilis motif is most commonly associated with the sunflower. It comprises two sets of intertwined equiangular spirals, one righthanded, the other lefthanded. Each floret fulfils a dual role by belonging to both spirals. This fascinating combination is one of the most impressive examples of mathematical beauty drawn by nature.''
Other new designs are Arts and Sciences, a series of statues representing architecture, astronomy, painting and sculpture; and the Manor chimney Piece, a robust design incorporating a keystone, all in a neoGothic style.
These products complement Haddonstone's existing designs which range from fountains and urns to balustrading and columns.
Haddonstone, established in 1971 to produce high-quality stonework from a special form of reconstructed limestone, exports worldwide and has a group company in the US.
