Iran is to spend IR27,000 billion ($15.64 billion) to develop and build new water utilities, 40 per cent of which would come from private funding.
Deputy Energy Minister for Water Affairs Rasul Zargar said the amount would be invested during the third five-year economic development plan which runs up to 2005, the official Iranian News Agency (IRNA) reported.
