Zamil Air Conditioners (ZAC), a business unit of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC) and the leading international manufacturer of air-conditioning systems in the Middle East, has launched the new PS and PT series of packaged roof-top air conditioners and the 50HZ series of ALQ chillers.
These new product lines are said to combine the latest technological advances with excellent engineering to offer new applications for cooling residential, commercial and light industrial spaces while providing additional efficient, cost-effective options for customers.
“We are certain that the new packaged units will increase the competitive edge of ZAC in the marketplace. We are always looking for new ways to provide the products our clients are looking for, as well as the value and convenience. We have raised the benchmark with the launch of the PS and PT series, but will continue to strive to serve our customers through advanced research and development efforts,” says Osama Bunyan, executive vice president of ZAC.
“Moreover, the new chiller series represents the continued commitment of ZAC to develop products according to the needs and concerns of our customers. We have made every effort to produce units that offer customers a product choice that reflects concern for the environment and energy efficiency at an affordable price,” adds Bunyan.
Packaged roof-top units
The new PS and PT series consists of 12 models ranging from three to 30 tons in cooling capacity. The units are available both in 60 Hz (PS) and 50 Hz (PT) applications. Due to advanced engineering, this series is more compact, lightweight, and has simplified the manufacturing process, says a spokesman for ZAC.
“Designed to meet all the requirements of residential, commercial and light industrial applications, the new units are available in a wide range of capacities, from 3 TR (tons of refrigeration) through 30 TR. Residential customers will be attracted to their compact dimensions, lightweight construction, and optimised airflow, allowing for more efficient cooling and greater comfort,” he comments.
Additional features that make these units convenient and user-friendly include microprocessor-based Performex controls, high-efficiency compressors, enhanced heat transfer coils, factory-installed options with an intelligent air quality system using economisers and UV (ultraviolet) flow emitters, and easy service accessibility for all components.
Chiller Series
ZAC's Cooline ALQ – a new chiller series comprising 13 models ranging from 10 to 70 tons refrigeration capacity – is also developed for residential and light commercial applications. With the addition of this new series, the ZAC chiller line for the 50 Hz ranges now from 10 ton to 440-ton capacity. Largely intended for export, ALQ units utilises both R22 refrigerant and the environmentally-friendly R407c alternative, he points out.
They feature high-efficiency scroll compressors and heat exchangers, resulting in improved energy conservation. The simple design and compact construction add to customer appeal, the spokesman adds.
ZAC has also developed a special new chiller for industrial use. The new unit supplies chilled water to the shower and eye wash apparatus commonly used in battery-charging areas, laboratories, and areas where hazardous substances are kept or dispensed. ZAC expects to supply these new units to petrochemical plants, where law mandates shower and eye wash facilities of this type.
ZAC was founded in 1974 as one of the first air-conditioning businesses to be established in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the four business units of ZIIC and has been moving vigorously in newer markets, seeking strategic alliances and investing heavily in research and development. Today, ZAC is a leading international manufacturer of air-conditioning systems and the number one in the Middle East. It designs, manufactures, tests, markets and services a comprehensive range of air-conditioning products, from compact room air-conditioners and mini-splits to large-scale central air-conditioners, chillers and air handling units for highly specialised commercial and industrial applications. These products and services are marketed under various brand names – Classic, Cooline, Cool Care, Clima Tech, Kessler Clima Tech and Geoclima – depending on specific markets.
ZAC's factories are located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Italy. ZAC is also involved in the production of branded air-conditioners for several leading international manufacturers under original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreements. It operates a joint venture between ZIIC and General Electric, called Middle East Air Conditioners (MEAC).
