The tender covers the development of three substations for Expo 2030 facilities.

Saudi Energy, a leading electricity producer in the kingdom, has invited bids for a key power infrastructure project as part of the upcoming Expo 2030 Riyadh.

The tender covers the development of three 132/13.8 kV substations, along with associated works to interconnect the facilities with the national electricity grid. 

The planned substations will support the electricity demand of the Expo site and surrounding developments, strengthening the transmission and distribution network in the host city of Riyadh.

Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to drive significant infrastructure investments across power, transport, and utilities as the kingdom prepares to host millions of visitors during the global exhibition. 

The new substations will play a key role in enhancing grid capacity and operational reliability for the event and future urban growth in the capital.

Also last month (March) Saudi Energy invited bids from leading utility developers and energy project specialists for setting up 380 kV substations and associated overhead transmission lines (OHTL) related to upcoming Renewable Energy Projects across the kingdom.

These Renewable Energy Projects are: 380/33kV Ashayrah Wind BSP; Mozeraah Wind 380/33 kV BSP; Mastura PV BSP with a 380/33 kV capacity; new substation East Al Amoah Wind 380/33 kV BSP and its OHTL; New Substation North Asir Wind 380/33 kV BSP and its OHTL; new 380 kV Tumair PV BSP – 9127 and its OHTL; new 380 kV Al-Majmaah PV BSP and new 380kV Double Circuit OHTL.
