Zaha Hadid Design’s (ZHD) collaboration with leading designers has led to new furniture collections and accessories.
Slamp and ZHD have created the Avia Edition, a vibrant new collection of the chandelier series handcrafted in three different shades – turquoise, blue and ultramarine. The limited-edition series has only 99 chandeliers in each of the three colours.
“The Avia chandeliers embody the originality of Hadid’s architecture, integrating design complexity with innovative manufacturing techniques,” says a spokesman.
Each piece comprises 50 intricately layered Cristalflex elements specifically composed to refract light from the LED source and create a dynamic play of light that is further enhanced by the use of Lentiflex.
With Citco, ZHD has launched two new pieces: Volta Bench and Malea coffee table. Volta is carved from a single block of granite and combines ZHD’s seamless lines with Citco’s exquisite craftsmanship. The intertwined loop is articulated through a smooth transition between hard-edged surfaces and soft, fluid, lines describing the item’s function while ensuring stability to the overall design. The Malea coffee table, meanwhile, combines two interlocking elements carved from a block of onyx. The transparent acrylic material amplifies depth and complexity through a flawless display of refractions while the solid stone conveys stability and balance to the overall design.
