TRL of the UK won a prestigious Green Mind Award for the best Green Innovation project in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena), beating more than 720 other entries from 12 countries across the region.
The project, funded by the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), investigated recycled aggregate materials in construction in a bid to reduce the amount of solid waste accumulating across Qatar and the Mena region and provide a solution for a cheaper and sustainable aggregate supply into the region. As a result, Qatar’s construction specifications will be updated and a recyclying target set.
