Saudi-based power and water project developer Acwa Power has its sights set on regional hubs with $15 billion worth of projects set for construction in the future.

The company, which has $27 billion worth of assets with another $17 billion under construction, said it will use regional hubs based in Rabat (Morocco), Cairo (Egypt) and Johannesburg (South Africa) to expand. Each region would contribute around 6,000 MW of renewable energy within the next five years, said Paddy Padmanathan, president and CEO.
