
ENGINEERING and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is bidding for the construction of airports in Oman and the UAE in line with its expansion plans in the region.
The bidding process for these projects is expected to be completed this year.
A total of four firms are in a race for the second phase of an Omani airport construction contract, in a deal expected to be worth up to RO41 million ($106.5 million). South Korean firm Hanjin Heavy Industries put in the highest bid of RO41.08 million followed by Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company for RO41.03 million. Larsen & Toubro tendered for RO30.3 million, while Austria’s Strabag bid RO28.6 million.
