RENTAL Solution and Services (RSS), a global provider of rental power, temporary cooling and mobile water solutions, is seeking a bigger share of the market by expanding geographically and launching new products.

“We will continue to invest in new technology to improve performance and fuel efficiency of our fleet and will be soon coming up with hybrid generators,” says Peter den Boogert, general manager – power products, who joined RSS in September last year.

RSS has four product divisions namely cooling, power, water and services. The company’s temporary power solutions include a full range of acoustically-containerised generators, distribution boards, change-over panels and junction boxes, an extended range of environmentally safe fuel tanks, and high current rating flexible power cables for extreme ambient conditions.

“We offer tailor-made solutions to our customers. It is very easy to start a generator rental company but it is the way people do their work that matters,” says Boogert.

“We have the youngest fleet in the market incorporating the latest in technology. Technology that we have integrated into our fleet using very intelligent controllers and fuel management systems guarantees the customer gets best fuel efficiency in the market. Our products are economical as well as environment friendly. Due to fuel management, we take care of emissions as well.

Commenting on the company’s expansion plans, Boogert says: “In 2010 we concentrated heavily in the Gulf and the Middle East and this year we are looking at Africa, South America and Asia. We are also in negotiations with partners in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. These two countries have huge power needs at the moment and we can fulfil their needs.

“Also our parent company ITS has a stronghold in Uzbekistan and Basra and we can serve Iraq from these locations. The Southern Gulf is doing well for us. Saudi Arabia is doing well, and the UAE and Kuwait are picking up. We are very pleased with Abu Dhabi for the moment. Qatar is another important market as it will see a lot of developments following the award of 2022 Fifa World Cup. In general we are quite positive as the demand for power is huge.”

Some of the projects RSS has provided temporary power and cooling solutions include the Dubai Metro, Bahrain Bay, Burj Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Sports City, Jebel Ali Airport, Meydan Race Course, Dubai Motor City, Aldar headquarters, Yas Island and Al Reem Island.
