Delta Company, established in 1976, is one of the most reputed and established mechanical/construction products trading companies in Oman, dealing in top-of-the-line products. The company holds a major share of the market and continues to pick up reputable agencies.

''Delta is associated with quality products. As a trading firm, your name is tied to a product, therefore we deal only in quality products.'' says Hicham Fattouh, managing director. ''Our approach is different from everyone else's. Our clientele are top-notch and demanding.''

Delta has managed to maintain a steady growth level over the years. Fattouh says: ''In spite of the fact that business levels were generally down in Oman, we have managed to achieve a 25 per cent growth this year - and our sales last year too were up on 1998.''

The company is dedicated to providing customers with the best possible solutions and standards of service. The company is part of the Suhail and Saud Bahwan Group, which is the largest trading house in the Sultanate of Oman.

Over the years, the company has diversified its activities, and the range presently being marketed includes high-specification building materials and electrical/mechanical products. It has four main divisions dealing in mechanical, finishing, lighting and sanitary ware products.

Delta has, in its range, institutional as well as luxury sanitary ware, and is a regular supplier of quality fixtures and fittings for the bathroom environment. Every conceivable light fitting for any internal and external application, can be obtained from Delta, the firm says.

The list of companies exclusively represented by Delta in the Sultanate of Oman, is said to be a literal Who's Who in the world of building materials/light fittings. Companies such as American Standard, Ideal Standard, Wico, Consulto (sanitary ware); Iris (ceramic tiles); Jado, CES, KFV, Dorma, BSW and FSB (ironmongery); and Bega, Boom, Limburg, Thorn, Zumtobel, Erco, Concord (light fittings) are all in the forefront of their market sectors.

Its mechanical division offers various types of pipes, municipal castings, valves and fire-detection and fire-fighting systems such as Fogtec from Germany which offers innovative water mist fire-extinguishing systems.

Delta has an ultramodern showroom located in the heart of Ruwi.

Outlining the company's plans for the future, Fattouh says: ''We are looking to cross the borders and have started by expanding into the UAE. We have established ourselves in Dubai. In fact, we have world-renowned companies asking us to represent them in countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE and India. It is a privilege, and it makes us feel good when our principals make such requests."

''Over the next few years, we will be looking at further expansion, training and bringing in the right people. Being part of the Bahwan Group, we have huge resources to fall back on,'' he adds.

Fattouh concludes: ''Delta spells class - both in terms of the products it deals with and the high level of service it offers.''
