A REGULAR exhibitor at The Big 5, MEP Group returns to the event driven by the positive response it has received in the past. At the show, the Italy-based machine manufacturer will be putting the spotlight on its 3D product-making machines.
MEP Group manufactures and supplies machines dedicated to automatic stirrup bending (from coil and rebar), automatic straightening machines, automatic cut form and syntax line plant, shear-lines and automatic benders, plant for electro-welded lattice girders and for electro-welded wire mesh, cage-assemblers and cage-making machines.
Among the products MEP will promote are the Format 16 HS and Format 16 HS 3D stirrup bending machines.
These machines are designed to fabricate small or large stirrups, straightened or bent bars, as well as circles and spirals in 2D or 3D (optional patented device) format automatically, thanks to a complete array of accessories, and are able to satisfy a wide range of production requirements.
“We have exhibited several times at The Big 5, have received a good response in the past and expect the same this year too,” says Massimo Minca of MEP’s marketing department. “We believe these markets deserve our special attention.”
Minca says that The Big 5 has helped the company reinforce its presence in the Gulf where it sees good potential for its products in the oil industry and other sectors.
He expresses confidence about prospects for the company. “Our domestic market seems to be quite stable but as we are active in more than 90 countries, we feel confident of maintaining our worldwide market position,” he says.
He says prospects for the construction industry in the GCC are good, although the current times are quite difficult due to political unrest in a number of countries.
MEP is aiming to increase its presence around the world and is closely looking at opportunities available. The company has made new acquisitions, both on the production and the marketing sides, in countries such as Russia and Brazil.
Established in 1967 in Reana del Rojale (Udine), MEP Group claims to have developed the first-ever automatic stirrup bender fed from coil. “This innovation allowed the shaping and cutting of the steel wire in a continuous cycle, revolutionising the methodologies in use at that time and which all required the use of steel in bars. MEP still maintains its function as a driving and coordinating centre where the group strategies are defined in synergy with all the group companies,” Minca explains.
MEP’s facilities are spread over an area of 50,000 sq m and it also has an office in Dubai. The annual turnover of the company is $100 million.
MEP will be exhibiting at Stand V112 in Zabeel Hall at The Big 5 show.
