JBT Corporation has been awarded a $20-million contract to supply passenger boarding bridges for the new terminals at Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport, both in Oman.

The Oman Ministry of Transport and Communications’ order involving the supply of 40 Jetway passenger boarding bridges will be executed by JBT Corporation’s JBT AeroTech business.

The boarding bridges will support the airport development projects in both Muscat and Salalah that have scope for further expansion depending on growth and demand.

“We are very pleased to be a part of these important regional development programmes through the building of new airport terminals in Oman,” said John Lee, vice-president and division manager, JBT AeroTech.

JBT AeroTech received notification in the third quarter of 2012 and expects installation of the gate equipment to be completed in the second quarter of 2014.
