HD Hyundai XiteSolution (HDX), the holding firm for HD Hyundai Infracore and its Develon brand, has partnered with Gravis Robotics to develop and commercialise autonomous technology for quarry operations and material handling operations.
The agreement with Holcim, a global building materials supplier, will focus on using Develon equipment featuring jointly developed autonomous technology across Holcim’s sites. The applications will include truck loading, feeding crushers, confined material handling at plants, and stockyard management.
Holcim aims to boost productivity, safety, and sustainability across its global operations through the adoption of autonomous machinery. Gravis Robotics, a Swiss start-up, will work with HDX to develop the technology and provide field support.
Develon has been developing autonomous machinery, including its Concept-X and Concept-X2 technologies. Its latest innovation, Real X, showcased at bauma, allows excavators to perform autonomous tasks like trenching and truck loading. Real X utilises Develon’s expertise in AI-powered excavation and construction equipment technology to accelerate the development of safe, productive, sustainable and predictive autonomous excavation solutions. It allows the same excavator to be operated in autonomous or remote control mode or in normal joystick operation mode.
