CONSTRUCTION work is under way on Phase One of Salam Resort — Bahrain, which will be Bahrain’s first luxury beach resort community on the main island’s southwestern coast.
The project, which is designed to resemble an Arabian citadel, will sprawl over a 500,000 sq m site on a virgin beach location, on the south-western coast of Bahrain, close to the Formula One circuit.
Capturing the spirit of traditional Bahraini architecture, the luxurious leisure complex will feature a beautifully-crafted hotel, boutique hotel villas, royal villas and a 20,000-sq-m state-of-the-art conference centre and a spa.
Phase One of the project is due for completion this year and upon completion of the second phase, the complex will house a community of luxury villas, apartments, shops and restaurants.
Built alongside a harbour — around which much of the hotel’s experience is based — the 278-room luxury five-star hotel will feature palatial spaces and opulent interiors.
With its authentically-styled “old Arabia” architecture, the hotel’s rooms and suites will offer individual balconies with sea views.
Its fine-dining restaurants, clubs and lounges will also have extensive terraces overlooking the harbour and adjacent beach.
The seven waterfront hotel villas will be tucked away in a private part of the resort.
Accessibly by waterway or by paths that wind their way through the landscaped gardens, each villa will have direct access to the beach and proximity to the hotels and retail area.
The low-rise hotel and exclusive villas have been designed to sit in richly landscaped gardens with direct access to the beach, restaurants and other offerings throughout the resort.
The traditionally-designed community villas, which will articulate Bahraini heritage and culture, are located on the eastern end of the resort and will be a mixture of premium, individual and clustered villas offering a seamless blend with the hotel, suq and conference centre.
The luxurious freehold apartments will be strategically nestled above the resort’s suq, boasting best views of the resort.
The various configurations and layouts will suit the needs of families, couples and single occupants.
The project is being developed by Sama Dubai, which is part of Dubai Holding, and will enjoy easy access via car and airlift.
